Hello

I am a happy owner of a new Canon ixus 80 is camera.

But i have a simple questions about it.

First i really miss to know how you can take more pictures very fast. If you for eksample have to shoot a jump on a bike, and you want to get a great picture by taking about 5 fast pictures while the bike is in the air. How can i do that?

Cheers Emil

Here's your simple answer...You can't!

Most DSLR won't even do it in that short of a time.

I could do it on my older canon ixus camera and on a casio exlim camera. Why not on this one?

It would take about 3 seconds for that camera to capture the 5 frames, assuming you gave focus set for the shots.

This camera shoots 1.3 frames per second.

But, you can always try.

Set your camera to continuous shooting.

Press 'Function Set'
Scroll down to 'Drive Mode'
Select the multi frame icon

You have to guide me even more. Because i don't know how to set it to continuous shooting. And i can't find a multi frame icon. Only a single frame.

The icon looks like three little cards stacked on top of each other. You might also try turning off the lcd to avoide image review.

What kind of camera do they use, then?

Take a look at page 76 of your user guide, it give instructions on how to set the continuous shooting mode. It just says use the UP and DOWN button to select the triple frame icon.

I manage to squeeze 6fps out of my EOS 40D and can fill a 512Mb card in seconds!!!

you can always use movie mode on your camera to record the sequence, than use "frame grab" within the zoombrowser to grab pictures. there's also another program that can dissect a video to take every "nth" frame. i think it was jpegvideo, but i'm not sure.

you probably need to set the picture mode from auto to manual. THen you can pick more features.
