Hello,

Looking to upgrade from my pop-up on my XSi to a hot shoe flash. I have looked at the Canon ex series, but frankly the prices scare me.

The Sunpak PZ42X TTL has gotten good reviews on B&H's site and seems to be a reasonable price as well.

Before I go buying one I was hoping the experts here would have some insight on this particular model, or advice on which to buy.

I plan on using it for basic indoor/family photography, just an amateur nothing crazy here.

Thanks in advance.

I have one I will make you a deal on! =) I purchased it for use with my Canon 50d and aparently its not compatible, but I tried it on my buddies XSI and it worked great.

Its still new, literally tried on my camera for an hour, didn't work, tried on the xsi worked flawless.

Looks to be a great flash, just wish it worked with my model. Talked with Sunpak today, it is NOT compatible with the 50d, or the 5d II, aside from that it will work on everything else. They are working on a firmware update but have not ETA on its release.
