Hello,
(Before you start reading I need to say that its not a comparison topic. I just need some nice suggestions and ideas maybe, as I am new in studio photography.)

I really need some help and suggestions have to do with light box and studio photography.
I have had experience with both systems Nikon and Canon and I can say that I love canon colors but I really like the sharpness that nikorr lenses give. I recently bought through amazon a light box instead of creating it with simple materials (like an empty box and tape, etc.)
At this stage I am selling some of my equipment and get a full frame camera because my job requires it and I need to take snaps from commercial products mostly, close ups, macro, etc.. Some portraits and weddings too but this is not my issue here.
I need an advice from people who have studio experience, which system they follow, lenses etc. I am between d3/d700/5d/5dmk2 (1dmk3 is too sporty and 10mp are enough?). Some friends ask me for Nikon but Iso 200 is enough for studio quality? I am a noob I know, don’t hate me.
I have some nice lenses in both systems but I can afford buying 1 or 2 more with my ff camera for the specific reason if needed.
I have:
Nikorr 105 2.8 micro
Canon 100m 2.8 micro
Mp-65
both sb800 and 580EX ii and 14x flash ring (canon)
12-24 sigma hsm Nikon mount
Sigma 24-70 2.8 canon and nikon
70-200L IS /4 canon
And a nikorr 50mm 1.8
Its a big buy for me, so please I need an advice. :)

What is the question? About ISO speeds or which camera or which lens?

I do product shots every day and don't see anything more you could add lens wise. You might want to focus on getting good lighting...

btw, I am guess by "light box" you mean a photo/light tent sort of setup? If so I know I found it easier to go with more of a studio light setup with umbrellas and softboxes vs. the tent thingy for 90% of the things I shoot (anything from fine jewelry to tacky collectible stuff). So I built a dedicated table as my photo booth kinda setup. It works MUCH better and I find I have much better control of lighting as well as backgrounds. In fact I am considering either buying or building something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Photogenic-TSTK-2-Shooting-Extension-Brackets/dp/B000BEU0CS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1231134405&sr=8-2

There are less spendy options but I used that link as a reference since it stay longer than an eBay listing would.

I just find an open work area offers more flexibility than the tent has...more than even the 48" tent that I could use as a spare guest room. ;) Yet, I also find times when they work best also.

As far as ISO...depends on your lighting or body's ability to manage noise...as far as MP, cripes for product shots that are just for the web, as a rule I find 3MP far more than enough...so 10MP gives a person a lot of wiggle room.

Is that sort of the input you were looking for? If so there are a lot of far more experienced product shooters here that can help refine the setup for ya...

The TS-E 90mm is probably a good one for product work, but you seem well setup for macro.

What do you have for flash? I would recommend the MT-24EX twin flash with the EF 100mm macro and specially the MP-E 65mm.
