I am a partner in a small but growing computer business which I prepare website templates for others. I have a passion for photography. I am wanting to find a way to get the two (web & photography) together to make my life enjoyable.

I would like to be able to photograph others at events such as kids games, small celebrations - maybe not weddings just yet and pets; then incorporate the images into a wonderful web.

My indecision or lack of direction is what would I be then? Am I a photographer who designs web pages on the side or vise versa.

What would be your own take on this deliema?

My take would be to stop looking for a lable and just go live life and enjoy it ;-)

Funpix: Sounds like you're on the right track. Just let the chips fall where they may at first. Have patience and get your feet wet. However, if you have read any threads in this forum we do not advocate shooting anything for free. As a business partner, you know how much your time is worth. Don't let it be worth any less because you have a camera in your hand rather than a mouse.

Check your local area for events you're interested in and see what's up. Be sure and check the local market for pricing before diving in. The biggest mistake that people consistently make is underpricing themselves. One you dig yourself into that mode, it's very difficult to recover from.

Good luck!

So you are trained in website design but love photography? Why not be a website designer who also can offer to do professional photography for that website. Say, the business I work at needs a new website. Offer to do the photos for that website as well.

Julie,
Actually I do offer this service to all my web clients. And some do take up the offer.
