Any inputs into the composition of this. Does it work? The sky was washed out (overcast). Too centered?

The washed-out sky had me stumped...
Here's the original.

I can't get past the sky. maybe you should just crop it out.

Something about the color of the rocks really grabs me but the road on the bottom third of the shot really distracts me. Definitely a lot of potential with the right PP.

I agree. I perfer the colored image over the BW. Work with cropping and the coloring of the sky.

I actually don't agree. I think that from this particular vantage point, the road is the only thing that makes this shot interesting. This is how I see it (very quick edit):

This is not the best sky to use but you get the idea! Put in your own sky! Just another option.

This photo is begging for a sky and it deserves to be in color...I love the shot.
Are those rocks on the road blue or did I really blow the color on this?
I was torn between uncropped or cropped at the grey line to give the sky and road more symetry.

Good inputs, I like it. I was going for the "windy road leads into the canyon where the walls point down to the middle". I like the sky additions, I've got some good ones I can add. The walls were brown, but the gravel on the road is grey.

My quick take on it

I like Ryan's approach, though I would crop the top even more. This helps keep the eyes on the road, which is the most interesting part of the image.

In my opinion, the original entry is the most realistic and the most believable.
