Hi Derek, you've got a cute one there. I'm going to start by saying I'm personally not a fan of selective coloring. I don't know what your settings were, but it looks like you've got some distortion going on. His head looks a bit too large for the body.

haha the little guy kinda has a big head for his body and hes also leaning forward a little bit so thats why it gives it that effect. Thanks for the feedback though!

I agree with the above comments. Selective coloring is overdone and there does seem to be a bit of distortion. I would also suggest adding some sharpness and contrast to make the image "Pop"

I think that you have the makings of a good photo here. There does not seem to be a spot in the photo that is completely in focus. I also think that the background - although deemphasized with the lack of color, is still too busy and distracting from the main subject - the child.
