Hi everyone! I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. I didn't find a designated introduction area, but there were a lot of intros in this forum so I thought it would be alright.
I was directed to this site by a good friend of mine (Andrew Gilpin), who also joined just a week or so ago. This place is wonderful, and I'm absolutely floored by the excellent photography skills by everyone out there. I look forward to searching these forums, looking at photos, and learning as much as possible about photography. I'm an outdoor enthusiast, so I'm hoping that with time and practice I can get into doing some decent wildlife photography. I'd also like to take better photos of my gecko collection. We'll see how that goes.
Currently, I'm only using a 5+ year old Kodak "point and shoot" style camera...but I've been happy with the photos I've taken with it. I hope to upgrade to a more complex camera, get some practice with it, and then eventually move into using some type of DSLR. That's a ways down the road, but it doesn't hurt to start learning early, right? ;) I'm also tinkering with Photoshop for editting, but I need a lot more experience with that as well.
Here is just a sample of what I've been able to produce myself (a couple of my geckos). They pale in comparison to what others can do, but I thought I'd share. :)
I'll see you around
