I'm fixing to setup the shoots with the hooters girls. What all do you do when you shoot, I.E., Casual, Nude, Formal, etc.

Do you do it all in one setting? Would it be to much to do all in one setting?

Just trying to get a list together so I can show these girls.

I'd say 3 at a time MAXimum. Vary that depending on your confidence and ability to lead people.
You'll find that having their friends or other girls there can be good in that they egg each other on, but it can also go too far and they become a nightmare to control!
I tend to deal with ones and twos and have a bottle of chamagne and some orange hidden away, so if things need relaxing I'll break it out.

i shoot as much as i can and as long as the model is interested in shooting - when they loose intrest it gets old fast

also - consider doing the nudes first, then casual then formal... reason being, tight clothing like socks, underwear and bra's can leave marks in your skin... also - formal wear tends to have the most hair and makeup, so if you start w/ a fresh canvas sort to say, you can then have her get dressed and add makeup thru the shoot

I would never ever serve alcohol to any of my clients. That will get you a horrible reputation that you will never be able to get rid of.

If the models are totally inexperienced, I will sometimes ask them to bring a few of their favorite music CD's (some soft music, and some shake your butey music). When their music is on, I usually will ask then to dance around and have fun for a bit to get them into the music and relax. After that most photo shoots end up great. The relaxed, fun, easygoing expressions really show in the pictures. This technique also works great for teenagers annd senior pictures.

I guess we are more relaxed about drink over here. We can drink a lot younger here too.
I don't see a problem with a glass or two, but you have to be careful they don't get carrried away.

The problem is that all it takes is for 1 model to say "The photographer broke out some alcohol, and tried to get me drunk so that we could do nude photos and take advantage of me." If that happens, you will not be able to recover your reputation. That also opens you up for a law suit.

Also, make sure that you check ID's when you have them sign a model's release. If they end up being a minor without you knowing it, and you serve them alcohol, then you are really in big heap of shi.....!

Playing their favorite music works much better, and does not open up legal issues. What if you are shooting on location? Serving alcohol at a customer's place or at a public place is also a big legal nightmare.

Trust me, avoid the alcohol, and avoid all the possible legal nightmares.

There's a good bit of advise for swatcop. Get them to sign the release, then take a pic of them holding the signed release and ID before you start. That way you have proof they signed it, and you have proof you checked ID.

Yea I've got a standard release form, looking for something with alittle more detail in it if anyone knows where I might be able to find one.

No booze, that could make for a disaster, I like the idea of them bringing their own music though. Thanks for that idea.

Our country is so sue happy that we MUST cover our rear ends. I wish is was more like the UK. Maybe not so much about drinking at photo shoots, but in general its a bit more relaxed and not so sue happy.

I remember we had an exchange student from Germany stay with us one year growing up. I asked at what age where you allowed to drink. He laughed and said if you can see over the bar then you can drink!

When I shoot models I usually do the following

My limit is 3 models, but 1 or 2 is typical.
I always have them sign the model release early in the shoot if not out right first thing. A simple model release is probably just as good as a complex one. All it provides is proof that the model was aware that she was going to be photographed for commercial purposes and her image is going to appear potentially all over the place. It doesn't stop her from suing later, but it will give you proof that she had agreed at the time.

If doing nudes that I plan on selling at some point, they must present two forms of ID, both must have birth date (or SSN) and one must have a picture. I take pictures of them with both IDs (head shots essentially) and then again with picture ID and model release in hand.

I tend to try to get models for 5 hour sessions when possible. 2 hours is my minimum, unless just shooting for them or going for a single specific image then less time is needed. My record is 10 hours, 2 models.

If doing a full nude fetish shoot:
The first hour is usually clothed, primarily for us to get familiar with each other's style.
The I do two separate 2-hour sets. There is about 15-20 minutes for outfit/makeup change between the sets. Not counting eloborate body painting which has to have extra time allocated just for that.

For plain artistic nude shoot: I allow more time time for makeup between sets, but otherwise I still tend to take most of 2 hours.

Fo non-nude: a 2-3 hour shoot is normal, with 2-3 changes of outfits during that time.

I never serve alchohol unless requested by a model over 21. Haven't had one request some yet. But I do serve soda, water, milk, gatorade, tea, and if I have it orange juice.

And I always offer to provide lunch or dinner; it has been a little over 50/50 on models taking me up on this offer. For trivia, the free dinner I provide has usually cost me more then the $20 I usually offer for food if they are traveling more then an hour to my studio.

I also always highly encourage the models to bring an escort if doing a location (versus studio) shoot as it is handy to have spare hands on location. Otherwise I only recommend they have an escort from a safety standpoint, otherwise I usually don't care one way or the other. In two cases the past couple of years the escort also did a touch of modeling for me at same time.

When I schedule a model, I verify one week out, exactly what I am expecting, a tenative schedule and links to my standard model release, directions, and portfolio.

The only time I will use a contract rather then a standard model release is if I have an eloborate set on a specific date that will cost me whether or not the model(s) shows up and it will be written for that session individually as best I can.

Just what I do, I have no doubt your results may vary.
