I think this qualifies as a landscape. I tried my hand at adding a soft focus in PS.

It look nice, but for some reason I think the tree on both side is a bit distracting. Since it covered the mountain view in the back.
I do agree on the color, framing and the reflections are great!
Maybe its just me.

I disagree I think the tree is good framing for the picture.

I also like the tree limbs in the picture. I didn't think it was distrating and I had to go back to the photo when I read those comments. I also really like the colors in the shot. Good job.

Thanks for the kind comments. The pic was taken with my 20D with a shutter speed of 1/200s at f/8 and 18mm focal length set at iso 100. I cropped it a bit in photoshop. I duplicated the layer (I had two layers of hte same image) The first layer I used USM (40%, 2.0, 4) and I used Shadows and Highlights (I forgot the settings on that). On the second layer, I applied a Gaussianblur (30 or 40% i think) and set the layer to overlay and set layer 2 to 75% opacity.

froman98,
It's a great landscape to be sure and the soft focus adds some nice elegance, BUT I am distracted by something in it too. I like the 'tree frame'........but try covering up the bottom third of the pic with your hand while looking at it. Doesn't it bring you more into the scene?? Maybe if you had knelt down a bit and brought the horizon to the center more, your 'top tree frame' would fit it better?? Totally just "my humble opinion"!!
