Ideas...

I need soem ideas for still life shots. I've already done water drops.

I'm just having trouble thinking of ideas on what to do.

Any ideas?

What about the opposite of water. Shoot fire in different stages. Candles are easy once you get the exposure sorted.

Not a bad idea, I like the idea of getting a match as it is first lit.

I'll give it a try.

1. Tank of cold water then drop in some hot water which has ink in it. Try and capture the mixing that occurs.

2. Another one is taking shots of oil film on water surface using combinations of polarisers/sunlight for wacky rainbow effects.

3. My favorite, time sequence of an ice cube melting away.

Play with your glassware or crystal. It can make for interesting photography depending on your light source (candle, desklamp, flashlight). If you have a bar, many bottles are aesthetically pleasing. See my first attemp with a 'martini'

Look for patterns around the house... the legs of chairs and tables. (Maybe their shadows are pose an interesting opportunity).

Fruit's (whole and cut open), flowers.

There was an article in a magazine I read recently that had thinly sliced lemons submerged in soda water with a natural light source. Behind the glass was a complementary colored wrapping pape... very cool.

I'll be watching what you come up with (maybe I'll try it too!)

Well I thought I'd try soemthing like your martini idea. I thought I'd try it with coke cans.

The coke can image is great. I love the DOF you used for it.
