Not sure if this is too busy or not. Thoughts?

I think so. I'd focus just on the vehicle.

Too busy with the house in the background. It's also backlit. I wonder what the shot would look like if you went around to the other side and got it in direct light.

Glad to see you're still shooting and posting. I like the image but it would be better without the house and chimney. I wouldn't lose the mountains as a background though.

Nice shot! It sure looks like you made it to Montana! Is it time to change your signature?

I think it would be better with just the car

I kinda like it as is. I understand the others' viewpoints; but this photo tells a story. The chimney is the remains of a house - destroyed like the car which may still be in the driveway. The other house in the BG - life goes on!
I like it.

Like the others have said -- it's too busy. Either focus on just the car or step back and take a view of the whole scene, include the car but don't make it the primary subject.

I wholeheartedly agree. While some might see this as a single subject image, I see it having a broader perspective as a landscape image with the primary point of interest being in the foreground. In any case, however, I believe that the context of the setting is very important in order to avoid the sterility of simply a rusty car body. A scene such as this can tell a lot about about what happened in the past. It is also reminiscent of photos from the WPA project during the 1930's that documented American life and hardships.

Going a completely different direction, it is too busy if your just doing another car hulk photo. But what I find unique about this shot is the context of it. So I would try to find a way to preserve the old farm house and fireplace. To reduce the visible contention, my thought was to go with less. In a large print, I think the detail is neat and should be kept. Otherwise, it is just another shot of another old car.

The chimney does not add much to the shot. Otherwise I like it. Well done on getting white snow.

I love this image as it is. I love the sidelighting on the snow with the texture showing. It's just great. I don't know why, but this image just seems to work.

Thanks all for the feedback. I did try some shots of just the car. But with the sun, some angles just didn't work and I felt "just car" was cliche and I couldn't quite get pleased with the compositions and the chimney was just out in the stark all by itself so I thought I'd add it in.
