Well, it seems that everyone else is starting their own "hello, I'm new" thread (although, usually I see it all merged into a single long thread where people can just say 'hi')
So, I'm following the herd and starting my own "Hello!" thread... so, "hello!"
Technically, I joined the site back in June when I bought the Canon XSi as my first DSLR (well, first SLR in general). Always had a passing interest in photography but never really was serious about it until I plunked down the cash and bought the XSi. Lurked around for a while as I usually do when I join a forum to get a feel for the people/politics/ettiquite/etc and just started posting my first pics.
I don't think I'll ever get serious enough to turn the expensive hobby to the point where I compare to many of the people I see here, but at least it's a good place to learn and read.. While I would LOVE to be buying some nice L quality glass, I don't see the need for what I have been doing with my camera of late - although I did spring for and LOVE my 60mm Macro Prime!
