Hi all,
I took some photos last year and a relative wants the photos but on a CD. It's a bit of a cheek as this is my living, but the person in the photos has died so and I don't want to appear greedy.
I don't mind him having the photos to look at but I do object to him printing off copies for everyone.
What do you suggest?

If you are not happy, don't give them. Simple. I say this as if someone is determined to get them there is always a way no matter how hard you make it to get them off a CD.
It is a little like these people who disable right click menus on web pages to stop people saving images. What is that all about ? The image is already on screen and is already saved in the browsers cache.
Bottom line, if you don't want them stolen, don't make them available.

Yeah, I appreciate what you are saying Ian and normally that is exactly what I would do but this bloke has lost his wife.

I suggest giving them the photos, family and money don't mix. Show them a preview quality on the web and do prints at or near cost. Put yourself in their position.

Yep, which is why all the 8 x 6 prints to date have been free. The people aren't related to me, I just know one of them.

I got some photos on a CD a while back that were date encoded. After the expiry date there was no way of accessing them as they were not in jpg or tiff format. Date track was internet linked as well so even re-setting the clock on the computer didnt sort it. Might be too much grief for what you are talking about but there do seem to be ways round it if you really need to.

Thanks Chris,
It's not just useful for this unfortunate occasion but also for Weddings.

If you don't mind giving the CD, but the concern is "printing copies off for everyone", just supply images too small for a good print. a 640 X 480 image can be viewed just fine on a computer, but makes a poor print...

Thanks - I think thats what I'll do.
