The white is 70-200 f/2.8 ISL.
The black is 85 f/1.2 ISL.
Will try the 350XT tomorrow in my kid's field trip.

That 85mm L is HUGE! It must be a lot of fun to shoot as it is so very fast . . .

I wouldn't want that 85mm f/1.2..
It looks like it will block some of the light from the popup flash :) :) :)
YES... I agree.. The lens makes the picture.. The body just records it.

Funny, I thought the 70-200 would have looked MUCH larger with the new XT/350

Does the camera still balance with the lens hood on the 70-200? It would make the camera look even smaller.
I love that 85 1.2. You almost need to put the shutter release on the lens to make it ergonomic. If I ever took that lens off I am almost sure that I would release the lock and then spin the XT around to get it off.
Nice pics.

I tried out a 24-70 2.8 one time at a camera store and the salesman mounted it to a film Rebel and it looked ridiculous. I think the lens was about as tall as the camera. Congrats on the new camera.

Thats pretty funny...
I love the first lens, only wish I could afford it :(
How is the size of the XT compared to, say, a Rebel G2 (film)?
I held a G2 at the store the other day and it felt like a point and shoot... my hands are too big for it :(

These are couple try out shoots first field trip with my kid.
1st picture, all the moms are ready to fire.
2nd picture, my daughter took it when she sat on my shoulder.
The 350XT is slow, but picture quality is OK.

Exactly there is a small cut away under the flash, and I believe that is made for the 85mm f/1.2 or 50mm f/1.

In all fairness the 1Ds apears to have a tripod mount attatched to it...but still GOOD LORD. It's about as tall as my 2000 but not nearly as wide.

Hi there,
Don't you guys find that it's rather difficult to grip the 350D with long lenses.
Tried the camera (in my favourite cshop) and I find that part of the fingers do rub against the lens barrel...especially with the 70-200/f2.8 and the 300/f4.
With the 20d or the 300D, you can hold the camera with the 70-200/f4 but it's difficult with the 350D. Maybe you guys know a better method in holding/balancing such long lenses and camera together.

This is what I do now, a new way to hold the 350D with most L lenses:
- Hold your L lenses instead of the body.
- The Ls cost more than the body.;)

That honestly looks very very odd.
I would say in terms of specs the 350 is probably almost as good as the 20D, but the size really kills it.
What was Canon thinking? I could see people wanting a small body for travel, but at least make it proportionate, lenses are still going to be a certain size.................

I love the size, I wish I could trade my DRebel for just the size alone. If people dont like it they have other options ^_^ 300d... 10d...20.. or even.. D70*runs for cover* ahhh

Wow I had heard that thing was small but I didn't realize just how tiny it is until I saw those pictures. It doesn't even look like there'd be enough room for my fingers on that thing. Is there anyone out there that could provide a side by side shot of the 300D and 350D? If not I'm definitely going to have to take my D-Reb into the local shop to compare it to that XT.

I would DIE to see the 350D & 50 F1.0 the lens has to be twice as wide as the rebel!!

At the beginning of this thread you will see 350D with 85mm f/1.2 which is about the same size as 50mm f/1.0.
