Contract Info?

Can someone point me to a list of stipulations about modeling contracts? Like what criteria the photo has to meet to require a release?

What's the best way to approach a person to get them to sign it? If someone approached me I'd want a price of the pie, how do you get around that?

Also is there a list of generic contracts about release info, usage, licensing etc etc?

I tell you what, I have seen LOTS of different releases. Some are so simple they literally fit on a business or index card while others are multiple page bohemoths that are crafted during the summer solstice by the dark wiards of the Lawyers Guild (I'm a nerd, there I said it). The practical truth lies somewhere between.

If you are like me and are too poor or cheap to get a lawyer to write someting for you or review something you have written then there are a number of good books that have ready to go forms and releases. One in particular is Business and Legal Forms for Photographers (Business and Legal Forms) (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/158115206X/qid=1110911795/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/103-2040686-6775866?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) which has probably everything you are looking for and more. And for about $20 it is definately what most people would call a good investment.

And you won't have any of that pesky lawyer residue to wash off.
