Another great shot as usual, Ian.
Although, I was expected some payback, something about fumbling around in the snow..........:D

Nice shot, Ian. That 300 lens of yours really is impressive.

Very nice shot(once again  ).
That 300mm lens you used is that the same on as Sheldon is holding in your other "hunter/hunted" thread (sorry if thats a stupid question.Just like to know what they look like)

Nice shot buddy. That lens seems to be working really good too.
The weather was absolutely perfect that day for what was probably the last day of owling for this year in Montreal.

Great Gray Owl. We have been fortunate to have had them down here since around Christmas. Sadly, for us, they will be heading back to their natural homes (Northern Ontario) very shortly.

I dont know how you find these owls, and then your able to get close enough to get a shot. My luck hed fly down and peck my eyes out.

The owls are pretty calm and are not flustered much by the presence of humans. This is partially due to the fact that they rarely come in contact with man where they live.
I've had a couple of them fly right at me and perch just inchs above my head. Every time this happened, I was wearing camo. I think it helps, although there are folks who say that I smell like a vole:):):):):):):)
