Friends have been telling me for a time I should "do something" with my photography. What?

Finally looked at what seemed to be an easy way to "do something" with my photography and entered an Art Festival. Figured I'd send my application in and just see what comes of it. Really wasn't expecting to get accepted but I got the acceptance letter last week (there must have been some extra spaces  )

I've got until the end of May to get ready and trying to figure out what I've got to get done between now and then. Anyone been through this?

Anyone know of any links or have any suggestions? I've been to a few festivals over the last few years but only as an observer. Got a bunch of ideas but my "to do" lists are getting very long and time is growing short. Thanks!

(BTW ... My goal is hopefully to have fun, see what others think of my "hobby" work and make a little money to reinvest in camera stuff)

I've done a lot of Crafts/Art shows over the years and they can be fun. If you've got a good spot in the show it can be great money wise! A lot of the good shows are "juried" meaning, you've got to show your portfolio to the people running the show. That can be frustrating cause depending on who's judging your work you might not get in depending on their moods and likes. I joined a company who sponsors art shows through the year. I pay a yearly membership fee and it entitles me to a list of shows going on all over my state. In the winter they hold the shows in hotels, and in the summer outside. Now's a good time to start looking for Summer Shows!
