Ok people here is a question for you.
If you had to sell all your lenses but one, which would you keep?
It doesn't have to be the one you use most, just the lens that is special to you.
At present mine would be the Tamron 17-35 as i use it most of the time and it givrs the shots i love the most .

In my case, it would be the 70-200 L. I use it a lot (portraits, sports, wild photography)...

If I could have only one lens, it would be one that I don't currently have ... the Canon 100-400L. Forced to choose one from my current lineup, I'd pick the 70-200/4L.

I guess the 50 1.8 since the only other one I have is the DRebel Kit lens. Until my 70-200mm f/4L comes in.

Ouch - bad question as I would fight to keep all of mine.
However, I would have to keep my 70-200 f/2.8 L IS

I quite like my Tamron 28-75, it'd be a toss up between that and a 70-200 Fx that I don't actually have ;)

The Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX HSM. Best lens in my bag by a fair way, and that includes the Ls.

Of the current lenses I own it would be my Sigma 18-125mm, I absolutely love the versatility of this lens. And d*** nice build for a non-EX Sigma.
If I could have any lens, it would be the 24-70L since it would be another great travel lens, even though I've used it and think it's somewhat bulky for the Rebel.
If I had to own a lens purely for picture quality, again it would be my buddies 70-200 f2.8, very nice lens...but I don't use this focal length too much.
If I could dream up any lens....It would be a Canon 24-200 IS f2.8L (same size as the current 28-135 EF (62mm filter if I could too) with typical L build...if I'm allowed to dream.)

Almost impossible to answer. There is a tendency to become emotionally involved with lenses that cost a lot of money, and I have several of those. Still, the 24-70L is probably the best 'all-around' lens for the widest variety of applications, so that's the one I'd probably keep.

Canon 100-400L IS USM. I love this lens!

24-70 would be the one. But I agree with Belmondo - tough decision. I have 3 or 4 lenses that I use for a great deal of my shots, and each would be hard to part with. The 24-70 would be the hardest though.

I agree with Tom W. My 24-70 f2.8 L is the first choice.
However, you'd have to pry my 16-35 f2.8 L and 70-200 f2.8 IS L from my cold dead hands before you'd take them away from my kit.

at the moment i onley have 2 lenses a 28-135 and a 17-40.it would have to be my 17-40.
soon i will have my 100-400 and 100 2.8 macro.then i would hide my 17-40 and keep my
100-400.in fact i might sell my 28-135 and get the 24-70.what do you think?

If I were limited to my current lenses, I'd select my Tamron 28-75/2.8 XR DI.
If I was limited to one lens for my future photographic life, I'd most likely upgrade it to the 24-70/2.8 L to get a bit wider and do it in style .
Best regards,
Andy

I'll say my Tamron 28-75 right now, but in the next week or so I might change my answer to the 10-22 that I plan on buying. Tested it out last week and now I can't wait to have it.

100-400L for me too. Some day it'll be the 300mm 2.8. Sure I'll miss a lot of shots as my only lens, but the ones I get will make me bank :)
