just got norton ghost and I am using it to back 2 files of my internal hardrives and taking them to my external drive. one of the files being a photo file, its large and is taking a while.

my questions is, next timer Ii add photos to this file, and back up with ghost, will it recopy everything from the folder or copy changes I've made to the folder?

Nevr used Ghost for this so could not tell you. However, why not use SynchToy from Microsoft? It's free and will allow you to do one both full copies and also just copy the changes.

I just downloaded sync toy 2.0! Thanks for the tip...I've been going bonkers trying to keep everything in sync between my various drives!

Don't give up on the Norton backups though, you definitely want to take images of at least your system drives on a regular basis, at least before/after major things change! I use Acronis for the disk images (and I know it works 'cause I've upgraded the disk using it :-). Until now have been doing "manual" backups to a NAS drive of my user data/images, but I've tested Synctoy and it seemed fabulous, after I get my main PC/external USB drives, the drive in the NAS upgraded, and my current mess tidied up in the next weeks, then Synctoy will become the main part of my "stay sane and find things again" strategy...

Ghost is good for backups of your system drive/partition. For other data it's incredibly inefficient. Synctoy/robocopy is much more efficient.

Acronis is the best at cloning your drive.
