I just bought a secondhand D30 in mint condition.
As I am not a really informed about the possibility of upgrading this "vehicle"...I was wondering , if there are any upgrades available and how to do it...do I have to be careful for Virus etc..
Thx

It's unlikely that it needs to be upgraded, sometimes Canon releases updated firmware but the previous owner probably applied it. There probably won't have been any updates recently, it's quite an old model now. You don't have to worry about viruses, just make sure you download any firmware updates from an offical Canon site.

Thx ...although I spoke with the owner and he himself said he never has put and update/upgrade ...in or on it.
So this is where I questioned ...and secondly ..is it really needed?

thx...although the previous owner told me he never had updated or upgraded the software..because he did not know how to do it...the same as I am not knowing...and would it have an advantage to do it ?

There is at least one firmware upgrade to this camera. I sold mine a couple of years ago and made sure I did the upgrade prior to delivering the camera to the new owner. The upgrade process is the same as it is for current camera - download the upgrade from the website, extract or decompress the file - load the upgrade file onto a CF card (make sure it's not in a folder, but rather is at the root level of the card's directory). Put the card in your camera, turn it on, and follow the instructions. Normally there is a text or PDF file in the download that has exact, step-by-step instructions on how to load the upgrade.
