IT FINALLY CAME! My 40D and 100-400L and my Macbook. ... But it is raining  grrr
Wow... I knew it was going to be bigger and heavier than my current setup...but DAMN! haha, I didn't realize it was going to be ... well, that big, lol. I can deff. feel the quality difference between my d40 and 55-200 and my new 40D and 100-400L ... the extra $1,000+ dollars makes a big difference.
Now... if it would stop raining, I would be one happy person. I don't wanna go to work tomorrow, it is suppose to be sunny and warmer, then sunday rain again and thats the next day I have off... haha...why me???
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

Well, congrats! Sounds like you need to come here to VA, where it's sunny and cold. :)
And I got the brick first, then the 70-200 2.8 IS and the 100-400 is nothing! :)

You could stay inside and take test shots of focus charts all night!

Curious to know whether you had a sick day and it was raining, or you had to slave at work while it was sunny knowing what you had at home waiting to be used?

So mean... lol. Well, I got up extra early thinking it was going to be sunny. That was a waste of time, it was foggy as crap, but I got some cool foggy shots, so maybe not total waste, but not what I expected. Slaved at work ALL through the sunny, nice, warm weather. Just got home about 1 hour ago, and now it is getting dark. And they wanted me to stay longer...pfft, nope, had "things" to do. :) Lets just hope tomorrow the weather man in wrong, and it will be sunny, not raining.
I think I got a fairly sharp copy of the lens, it seems like it at f/8 anyways. But I just got the camera, and it is my first canon and I haven't been into photography for more than a year, soo.... I have a lot of learning to do.
I am interested to know what camera settings you all use on your canons for birds and bif? or Animals in general. How all of you with your 100-400L are getting such damn sharp photos, it's amazing. I'd hate to have a bad copy (it is refurbished, so it is probably just me, dont know though.) Eh, if it is ill just sell or send it back or something and get a 300 f/4.
