Well, folks, it's time for the nineteen thousand nine hundred ninety ninth meet. The prior sixteen thousand were just great. The people so nice. The turnout amazing.

The zoo is still cleaning up after us; the animals just calming down.

Meeting up with twenty seven of you guys/gals on new years eve at times square was just fab. And the best part was Nickyboy coming with his 2x tc attached to his 1.4 tc attached to his 100-400 for a stunning f11, at night. His pics were a sight to see with night vision goggles.

Sunday we meet at B&H and buy everything in sight.

As for any kind of NY meetup, it looks like we are fast approaching the one year anniversary of the Chinese New Year's meetup last year.

The only difference will be lots of people showed up. That was the first time a lot of us got to know Mark. I think it's safe to say none of those people will be showing up this year. The only reason why I would show up would be to get my $7 so I can finally decouple my TC's.

Haha...you guys been talking behind my back? Canon for life! Yeah, due to work (we had layoffs not long ago but luckily I survived) and my snowboarding addiction I really haven't logged on all that much and/or taken that many photos lately. I used to average like 2000 clicks a month now I'm lucky to get like 500 (not counting the hundreds of point and shoot photos I get while snowboarding).

Not really trying to turn this into a hot girl strobist shoot thing. Just wanted to throw some ideas out there.

Haha...all good bro. I was thinking about getting a G10 so my P&S photos wouldn't look so crap. I bought myself a camera pack so I can ride with my SLR but:

A) Not the easiest finding the right weather/conditions
B) Psychologically hard not to feel the pressure of riding with thousands of dollars of equipment on your back and not to wipe out

Hopefully, I'll bring the SLR out to the slopes with me a few times so I can post up some photos for you guys to see.

The last time I went skiing, yeah, I said it, skiing, not snow boarding, my main concern was not falling and peeing in my underwear. It took me a while to learn, but I'm all good.

Looking forward to the pics of your broken DSLR pic taken by your G10. Do make sure to post those up.

Maybe it didn't come out right. What I really meant was it isn't easy holding myself back from riding hard so that if I fall it will cause minimal damage to my gear :)

As for the G10 I just want a high quality P&S camera I can put in the cargo pockets of my pants and not hold back when I ride. If I break it...$400 is better than $2000+...haha.

Sandisk is always having the card rebates. You buy three for about $100-$200 and then send in rebates making it like $5 for each card or something. I end up selling two of them usually and keeping the third. It's a good way to make a little cash. The rebate comes in a prepaid credit card.
