Hi all, and Happy New Year!
I was out bush walking early this morning in the Blue Mountains and my Manfrotto 785SHB broke its leg. There I was all set up and ready to take a shot and next thing my camera is acting like it’s had a few too many and doing a Tarzan swing off the shutter release cable. I was lucky I caught it before it hit the deck.
One of the leg locking latches failed at the hinge pin (see attached pic) and the leg just telescoped. It’s less than 12 months old so if you own one of these suckers it might be worth checking it over.
This has been a great tripod for backpacking as it folds down to just 350mm (13 ¾ inches). I’ll be contacting the supplier on Monday to see what they can do under warranty.
