this my latest m42 taken with my bird lens the 40d + ed 80/600mm.

i was doing some checkes on my eq5 mount as it was tracking out a lot so ive made a new 4 leg pod and things seems a lot better.

i have desided to make a dome so there less time setting up.

Awesome for a single image. M42 really needs a range of exposures and some nifty post processing to maintain the detail in the trapezium. The Eq5 responds well to guiding (consider getting a guide cam that has an St4 output that will then plug straight into the Autoguider port on the mount. Makes life so much easier)

thanks chris.

ive only had the modest equipment for about 10years or more and im getting slightly frusted at time with the set up so im now mapping out for a observatory .

i did have a roll off roof shed but the wait of the home made roof was in possible so imm going DIY dome . when thas done my old trusted eq5 mount which is the older style twin motors will be replaced with a heq 5 pro. which would be a dream come true.

many thanks
