Couldn't image editing be turned on by default and agreed to that in the terms of use. Then if someone wanted to they could later turn it off.

Many people come here looking for advice. You ask them to turn it on and they say oh sure go ahead...Six post later and with a link to how, they turn it on.

Seems like it would speed the process for new members and those trying to help them.

Often times I will see a newb worry, grab there photo and do some tweaks and having forgot to check I'll get back to post the result and realize they do not have permissions on. Now I can ask them to turn it on...Write an essay...or move on to the next thread and throw the edit in the garbage.

While were on improvments, can we include a focus chart and a copy of understanding exposure with the membership packet. As well as a Master of photography certificate. ( I know this should be included in the box by Canon)

Just a quick note to let you know we are not ignoring this (or you), even though it has been a while since you posted it. It is currently being discussed.

Belmondo keeps hiding the rock and scissors so, when we find them again, we'll be back with a serious answer.

Thanks for raising this point.

John

oh, did you not get your copy of Understanding Exposure? I blame Supplies ;)

We've given serious thought to your proposal. We have decided the default Image Editing setting will remain "Off" as it's the members', not POTN's, prerogative to decide what permissions they are willing to grant for their copyrighted images.

Ahh...Seems like a well thought out decision.

Somtimes I forget what a small Viewfinder I have on the larger picture.

But I am delighted to learn it was at least worth consideration.

Now about that membership packet. I have had time to gather my ideas. There is a few more things i would like to see included. Where and to Whom do I submit this?

The Membership Packet is supposed to be in the box with your camera. If you bought grey market or second-hand it may be missing though . . .
