PocketWizard Set-up

Quick questions.

I have a 40D and a 580ex II and need to get some PocketWizards.

Am i correct in thinking that I would need buy two pocketwizards plus II?

If so, is there any extra equipment (cables) needed to get the PW's to connect to the camera and the flash?

Yes, you will need 2 units, and they come with the Miniphone to PC Cable that you need to hook them up to the flash with.

The unit for the camera hooks right into the hot shoe.

And yes, you may need other cables depending on what you are connecting.

Be careful with the cables. I bought 2 for my set up for my 5D and 580EX and the cost was $200.

The 580EX II has a PC port built-in so the one that comes with the PW units should be fine. :)

one cable that comes with PW works fine with 580II, i use mine all the time.
you need one PW on camera (in hot shoe ) and one for every flash you want to fire.,,,
btw. PW have $25 rebate if you buy it now,, i just ordered one from B&H with extra 580II .
