I was out at an old mill the other day. While the others around me were taking snaps of the old building, the stream feeding the mill, etc, I found myself drawn to the small details of old machinery left rusting outside. I guess thats just my personal nature....I enjoy the close-ups more than landscapes.

PLease give me some feedback as I am very new to this, and I welcome all advice!

Welcome to the forum, I also like the old feeling of rusting pictures I am the kinda person that goes to a junk yard and finds things to take pictures of. the only advice that I can give is to take lots of pictures and post them for everyone to see. What kind of equipment do you have?

I have a digital rebel with a kit lens, a canon 75-300 zoom and I just bought a 420 ex speedlight. I am so thrilled with theopportunities to have a creative outlet!

I also must say that I have really learned alot from this forum and am recommending it to my photography pals!

OOps! I realized that my pics never posted before (Saved them as tiff's, not jpegs) and I just tried again but I got an error message. I wonder what I am doing wrong?

I am using the attachment options and then browsing for my photos. When i hit upload there seems to be a very long delay and then the error message.

Anyone else having this problem ? (I am sure in is directly tied to my inexperience with this forum, so I apologize in advance!:oops:

If you upload to this forum, you are limited to 100 k per picture, two per post.

Welcome to the boards!

You could also try using something like THIS (http://imageshack.us/)to host your images if they are a bit larger.
