Shot some photos for someone of their Friesians...
Canon Digital Rebel, 300mm lens.

Friesian gelding, (had to remove an ugly white storage trailer thing out of both of the photos below, hope it's not too obvious that I did..it was behind the fence in the background)

very nice images!

I especially like #1 because the horse shines like a freshly waxed car.
I assume you don't wax horses, right :wink:

I like the expression of the horse in #3.
Obviously, he likes to have his photo taken by you.

Andy, no you don't wax horses :) but they did prep the mare before the shoot...she was bathed, brushed out and they did put a shine spray on her. Both of those horses are like giant puppy dogs. Glad you liked the photos...I alway have a blast taking action shots of horses.

So they *DO* wax horses.

It's just called differently.

I like horse action ... as long as I am separated from it by a sturdy barrier :wink:

haha Andy, I agree I like a nice strong barrier between me and those very strong horses.
I like number 3 best.

Gorgeous! I love Friesians, such magnificent animals. I'm guessing by your avatar you are in either FL or CA? Looks like Winter Equestrian Festival or Indio. :0)

Yep, I took my avatar picture during the winter equestrian festival in west palm beach probably 7 years ago I think with my old canon FT manual camera and a 200mm lens, back then I just focused on the middle of the jump and waited for the horse and hoped for the best, it's hard to pan with a manual camera, lol.

I hope to venture down to WEF someday. Mecca of gorgeous hunters and jumpers :0)

Thank you for the compliments on my photos, I can't wait to get out and get new ones with a Rebel, I took all the current horse photos on my website with an A80 powershot, I was sitting down on the bleachers eating lunch when I took the one of Point Guard...got really lucky it came out so good!
