Alpine sunset over fog

As the sun dropped below the horizon, the cloud/fog spread out to fill the whole valley and the entire range was backlit with a beautiful reddy/orange glow. Skiing down towards the fog with the backlit range stretching infront of us was an awe inspiring experience that no photograph could ever capture. :D

What a great place to be on the first day of the year.

Very good shot and a point & shoot at that.

Yes, I was impressed at how the little camera handled it. I wasn't sure if it would turn out when I took it, and straight out of the camera the shot was a bit washed out. But a bit of a play with curves, saturation and the shadow/highlight tool brought the colours out nicely.
