I have never seen deer grazing with turkeys before today.
It's a rainy dark day so this long range shot is a little ruff.:cool:
20d, 75-300 IS USM @ 300mm, 1/250, f5.6, Manfrotto monopod, taken at 9:48 am today.

Wild turkeys and wild deer like similar habitat, so it isn't too surprising.
There is a park near Sacramento California where they are found together a lot.

I've seen it quite often ... I think the deer like having the extra (very sharp) eyes around.

I'm pretty sure you are right about that. Even though I've not seen deer and turkey together before, deer play off of the reactions of other animals to alert them of danger. Sort of a symbiotic relationship for survival.:cool:

Turkeys have amazing eyesite (color as well) and dear can hear a mouse sneeze in Fiji. Since they don't eat each other, they sometimes graze in the same area.
