i've noticed lots of quality reduction when i open CR2 files with Photoshop CS comparing to viewing the same images with the software came with my camera from canon. in CS the images are much softer and colors not as saturated as well.

anybody has a clue?

thanks!

You have to adjust the settings for raw conversion in PSCS to your liking. You can then opt to have PSCS apply the same settings again in other raw files by saving them as your default.

I suggest you read, Real World Adobe Camera Raw by Bruce Frasier, if you hope to get the most from PS CS raw conversion.

That book's very worthwhile, I highly recommend it. It's better to read and understand the whole process rather than learning little bits from the people on here.
