I've recently joined and I have found a wealth of great information here. Wish I'd done a little more research before jumping in and buy so much equipment. Not that I'm unhappy with any of it but rather I could have saved some money and time. But that's OK, there's some value in learning a lesson.

I'm a builder by trade and like to document my projects with photo's, I'm also a car buff and work on a pit crew for a Pro Mod drag racing team. For me getting into photography is part fun and partly to help capture memories of my grand kids, family, car shows and drag racing events.

Currently I'm planning on purchasing a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM and benching my 28-135mm that came with my 40D. That should give me a well rounded set up I think. See my sig and feel free to tell me if I'm on the right track or have I made some mistakes.

Just wanted to say hello and I'm looking forward to learning a lot, an passing on what little I know to others.

Welcome to you! You certainly have built up quite a lot of gear there - well done.

Welcome to POTN. Hope you find what you need and lock up your wallet!

Your gear list seems suitable so looks like you are running well. All focal ranges are covered so carry on shooting. :D

Welcome to POTN. Your set up looks good to me. My wife loves her 24-105L and I imagine that you will too.

I have the 40D and it's a good camera. The best thing about the 24-70 or 24-105, they are both amazing for just getting the right shot. Congrats and enjoy it all. Welcome and post something in share when you get around to it.
