Just wondering if anyone has any info on a remote shutter release, either wired or wireless for the S45 (or S30 or S40). It was one of my hesitations in the S45 vs. G3 decision (S45 will win regardless- the G3 is too large). I have read a bit on the "Remote Capture" software, but I can't lug a PC to take remote pictures at the park.
Anybody know of a diagram of the data I/O port, and any possible shutter release leads there? Or, the USB serial command structure for remote shutter releasing? I could easilly (easy=I have all the components+know-how, but little time) build a unit to speak serial commands given an external trigger.
At the outside, a mechanical solinoid arrangement sitting on the camera just doesn't sound elegant, and any homebrew devide will dwarf the S45 :> . Ripping the S45 apart to gain access to the shutter button leads is also tempting, but I hesitate for warranty and reselling-worth reasons (is this capability worth anything to anybody but me?).
I am a pretty capable electronic experimenter, but I do have my limits.
