View Full Version : How do you guys take photos of your food when you're at a restaurant?

So I started doing some reading on food photography. Most of the articles involve setting up something to take photos of food. However, that's not practical if I was at a restaurant with friends. So what do you guys do to photograph food at a restaurant? Any specific equipment that you use? Any technique that you want to share?

I would set something up with the restaurant ahead of time. Bet they'd be willing to accommodate.

That's what I have done, just flip up the flash and go.

Step 1: Point camera at food.
Step 2: Compose, focus.
Step 3: Take picture.
Step 4: Eat food.

Eat food put plate further forward, take picture. Let them wounder what it was, if there is any left it wasn't good, if its empty it was good.

I haven't ever had a problem, but most places don't fuss about people shooting pics of other people in the party with P&S, so maybe they don't notice
