I was wondering about this, if you could only use one lense, for all your shots, what would be that overall lense that gives you that wide range of looks. I'm looking for that number 1 overall lense. Whether shooting children playing, portraits, sports, or even weddings?(One Lense Only and why?) Thanks!!

For most with SLRs, i'd fathom a guess and say there is no one lens that does everything (kinda defeats the purpose of being able to swap lenses).
Personally though, 90% of my shooting could be done with the 17-55/2.8
EDIT: Oops, didn't realize this was in the G&N subsection. I rarely do fashion stuff, but I'd say perhaps my 85/1.8 when I do.

For G&N, the 135 f/2L outside. For interior shoots, the 24-70 f/2.8L.

I shot 95% of my shots on the brick (24-70L). Wish it had IS but it works great.

I do a wide range of photography and the one lens that I use the most is my 28-300. It runs the gamut of the majority of the things I need. I do still like my wide angle for landscape shots. But I couldn't live without my 28-300. :)
