Just a couple of snaps from my trip in australia. I quite like these two but would love to know how to make them that bit better. Thanks for any opinions or advice.

Ah brings back memories of my Oz trip last year. I walked around that lighthouse for ages trying to get most of it in, I ended up flat on my back surrounded by lots of bemused tourists.
With the Opera House shot I'd try using the shadow/highlight feature in Photoshop (if you have it of course) to bring out the shadows. Using curves should give the same results. You've captured a great coloured sky though!
I'd maybe lighten the lighthouse shot a wee bit using levels and/or curves. The sky looks a tad too dark on the left (maybe incorrect use of a polarizer?), you could crop it slightly on the left but I'm not sure how you could correct it so maybe someone else could give you a tip?
Hope you had a great trip.
Paul.

Love the first one, that building looks aweosme! The second one is really good too. The angle goes with it well.

Very nice perspective on the lighthouse shot, I've got a few of that same lighthouse around this site somewhere :) so brings back some memories.
The first shot is nice as well, the suns orange glow is always nice for me, however being at a laptop right now, if i change the angle of my screen, i can make it look completely like a silhouetted image - looks much better.

Second shot is beautiful.
Did you use a polarising filter or did you make some adjustments with Photoshop?
Either way, well done.

Actually the second shot is completly untouched out of the camera. With no polariser either. I fiddled a little in photoshop but nothing really improved it. Im sure there are things to improve it but my photoshop skills are still in there infancy.

Awesome
Another note in my diary: get on a plane to Sydney and take the camera.
