This is my favorite shot from last year:

This is an INFRARED shot from Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH. The shot has not been manupulated other than levels, and a little sharpening. The orange is from the IR filter.
The other (9) can be seen here: http://www.pbase.com/jwkramer61/2008tt
C&C always welcome, and appreciated!
Thanks!

I am sure there may be a thread on here for this but being that this is one of the best IR images I have seen in awhile I want to ask. What gear are you using and what is evolved in shooting IR on digital it is one of the biggest things I miss since switching to digital.

no problem. I shoot with a converted (LifePixel) Canon 10D. Shooting IR with a converted camera is really easy (especially compared to film). It is possible to shoot IR with a non-converted camera as well. Depending upon the model, you will get mixed results. It will always involve framing, focusing, then placing the filter over the lens and shooting. Typical exposure times for non-converted cameras are around 30 seconds. With a converted camera, you shoot just like normal, and can handhold because the hot mirror has been removed (and replaced wih an internal IR filter).
You can get started on LifePixel's site, here:

I am a LifePixel affiliate, so if you want any other info, just ask.

I agree - I think the lighting on the front of the building enhances the shot.
Thanks!

Infrared conversion is a permanent modification to the inside of the camera. It removes the clear piece of glass directly in front of the sensor, and replaces it with a piece of IR filter glass. This blocks light below a certain spectrum from getting to the sensor. In my case, the cutoff is at 720nm.
All of my shots are not IR... only the ones shot with the converted camera.
Thanks!
