What do you want to know?
I've got one, I love it, great lens.
Good build quality, decent image quality, and works great on the Rebel with the pop up flash provided you remove the lens hood.

Hi MrChad, I got a bit confused with Sigma's DC line, I hope you can help straighten things out. The DC is supposedly for digital cameras with 1.n X crop factors, so does this mean that the lens really goes down to 18mm on the wide side?

Thanks!

Myke,

Haven't used the lens, but an 18 mm DC lens is an 18 mm lens.

The difference would be that it does not perform so well or shows vignetting in the corners on a full-frame camera.

Best regards,
Andy

It is a 18mm lens, but it can never been used as an 18mm lens because it cannot capture an image into an image size/film size of 35mm film or full-frame sensor.

Lenses for these 1.6x digital cameras should really be marketed as: 28-200mm equiv. for 1.6x dSLR series.

Flase advertising? So if you realy want an uber wide lens, you have to get a EF-S 10-24mm or the Sigma 12-24mm EX DG? Kind of a pretty penny for a lens.... oh well, guess i really got to save up then...

The truth is it is still an 18mm lens, you will still get some of the 18mm wide angle effect at the center of your photos that may not appear with say a 24mm lens. This has happened with both EFS and Sigma DC lenses in my use. So in reality it still acts like an 18-125mm lens, plus the crop factor varies by sensor size too, so it may not be a 28-200mm eq. on a Nikon for example.

The problem lies not in the lens but in the smaller sensors of consumer DSLR's. As such I still find this to be the ideal Drebel go to lens for my general use. You can have a Drebel, 18-125mm DC lens, and a 1G CF card for under a grand...what a bargain for so much utility.

Plus I love using this lens, which is all that really matters in the end for anyone.

I think Tokina now has a new 12-24mm for crop factor bodies, it had a really good review in this months PopPhoto. It may be worth a look.
