Hey everyone,

Santa was good to me and managed to fit a HP LP2475 down my chimney  . i was wondering if anybody here has one hooked up to a mac ( in my case a macbook pro ) and has the PDF instruction manual and if there are any mac drivers out there so that i may be able to rotate the screen . The disc that was supplied only has exe. files and i don't want to install and run boot camp so that i can rotate a screen.

thanks
-mike

I don't think there are Mac drivers at HP for this display. What happens when you open up System Preferences > Displays ? It should have an option for Rotate (in 90 degree increments). If not, try (with monitor hooked up and on) pressing the Option key while opening System Preferences and continue to hold it until you press Displays. Some monitors also support the feature when you physically rotate the monitor the system will rotate the display too.

Thanks for the help guys. After i posted this i found out that i can rotate the screen using the system preference and display where there is rotate options. Thanks for the link but you were right, they aren't for mac :( . How come most of these company's that make monitors don't make mac drivers  .

I was wondering if anyone has had unsatisfactory results calibrating the monitor using a calibration device on the hp 2475? I have a spyder 2pro that i use. i know that this unit isnt designed for wide gamut and i have a spyder 3 elite on the way but it doesn't ship until wensday. The problem is that when calibrated it looks totally different than my macbook pro and some reds greens and what seems to be purple are way too saturated... i'm worried that this might be a problem with the monitor. Should i just wait for the spyder 3 and see if that fixes things.

I don't think you have much of a choice. My personal experience with the Spyder 2 pro was not nice on either PC's or Mac's. It did something a little different on every monitor I used. I have identical LG monitors and it calibrated them visually different. I can see there being some minor differences, but when I switch profiles they are WAY different than each other.

Maybe the data written to the LUT was also different...
