hey guys.. first i want to start off by saying that i am pretty clueless to this technical stuff. just got a new computer for christmass (i was a good boy;)) ok so anyway. when i link up the camera to the computer the jpg images load fine, its the RAW images that give me trouble. i had it wouking on my laptop before. ok so when i plug the camera in a "EOS Utility- EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTI" screen pops up. its the one with the four little picture link thingys. the first "starts to download images" the second "lets you select and download images" the third "camera settings/ remote shooting" and the fourth "moniter folder"... ok guys when i click either the first or second(doesnt really matter) the images save in my "pictures" inder the date i shot them and i can not view them unless i open up the software that downloaded fro mthe canon disk (digital photo professional). on my lap top something pops up and lets me select to upload into windows. this way i can see them in my pictures photo and i dont have to drag them into canons software. which is a total pain. i went into the programs list to see if i missed anything in the download and "canon raw codec" was missing. i went and downloaded the new version 1.4 which didnt work so i went and deleted that and tried 1.2(which was on my laptop), still no luck.. whats going on guys? i dont have photoshop on this computer yet so i dont even know if it will matter once i get it.
some info that may be important (i dont know)
the laptop is vista
the new computer is xp
thats all i can think of besides the lapt top is a well lap top and the new computer is a desktop, but i dont see that meaning anything.
please help guys
