Hi there just bought the new S230..this thing ROCKS
Been waiting for a camera like this for soooo long
small but what Power and features..Anybody thinking which to get... this is the One...
Can anybody tell me the max size of CF card this camera will accept...is it 256 or better....

As far as I've seen, as long as its compactflash type I, its good to go. I've only seen 512MB cards so far, so I'd guess that'd be the biggest one.

Compact flash cards have the hardware built into them for how the memory can be accessed. This is why your compact flash slot can take any size compact flash card that comes out without needing a firmware update for the camera for larger sizes. Just make sure that you get the right type. TypeI is thinner than typeII. TypeII slots can take typeI cards but not the other way around.

As previously stated, Compact Flash cards of any size can be used. The "sweet spot" for cost/capability now is 256MB. You can find these for around $80. I keep a 256MB card in my Pro90 all the time with a 128MB card as a backup. I can shoot pictures all week using the Canon RAW file format. The limitation now is battery life.
