Great performance by these guys, heaps of energy and totally danceable tunes. I looked around and everyone was smiling during their set! Hope my pics captured that vibe? Thoughts?

BJWOK, these are nice. Really like #1! I like the PP on it too. Did you use Unsharp Mask on it? Could only be better if the mic stand was out of the way and if you had framed slightly more to the left to include the more drummer and a little off the top. Those damn mic stands always get in the way! I'm assuming you used your 5D? I'm being persuaded more and more by what you guys have been posting to jump from my 40D to a 5D II.

thanks tea party (hehehe). yeah i like 1 too, but no it was not unsharp i used, but a lightroom preset call boon doogle. i always start with that preset then modify from there onwards. i sort of like the mic stand in this one: almost like he is approaching it from the back of the stage (well, he was!). and yeah these are all taken with my 5D. i have a mate who has the 40D. all i can say is if you get even the 5D mk1 you are gonna go off your nutter!! do it!! :)

I'm glad you caught the Tea Party reference.. my favorite band growing up. :D

Where did you get your "boon doogle" preset? Looks great! not sure how it would work on other shots, but on this one it reminded me a tiny bit of the Gary Land/ Dave hill look. Sharp edges with a dark, gritty look. Very well done!

thanks guys,

edges - i can't remember where i got that boon doogle preset, as i can't re-find it on google! from what i remember i got it in a bundle with a bunch of other. i did a search for lightroom presets originally...

Ah, it's always a joy to look at your work ... things I don't expect ... I just wish they were bigger. :-)

Nice series. I don't see light colored stage floors often, but my only comment might be to burn that area to take the focus off it in 2 and 6.

i guess that is the dilemma with shooting a festival in the day :( i kinda like it as it is a little different!
