I am wondering if anyone has done any shooting with a video light? They are small enough to mount on a light stand and even bounce from a reflector or umbrella. Am I crazy or would this work. Worse case they could help you focus in VERY low light or dark situations.
Any examples out there?

video lights are great and have used them a few times for weddings. ( lowel ID light )
here are some examples, though i havent tried boucing them or anything like that, with the Lowel ID Light its dimmable so its very flexible - not a cheap light though but well worth it

Chuck Arlund just did a write up on another forum about using video lights. He seems to love them since you can get a much more intimate look and soft light than a flash. I've also seem another photogs using them in a wedding setting during a reception to really control the light. But there are nice little LED flashlights you can get started with for about $30 before you make the plunge on something like a lowel.

Thanks !!!! I think I would rather jump for the $30 flash light first *LOL* I think there is a lot pf potential in the video lights.
Below is a link to a Photographer who uses them for Weddings.

I think you really have to keep an open mind when it comes to lighting alternatives;)

Wait wait wait thought scorpio. You are referencing Buissink?! He's a master in his own right. I will be there one day! Mark my words!

Check out Chuck too. He does some amazing work.
