Just wondered if anyone who does a lot of travel photography with people in them, carries a translated copy of their model release?
For example, if going around latin america, would you bother getting a spanish one? The obvious benefit is the subject can read it, so you might get more signed than if you took an english copy.

I had my business card releases translated into Chinese by the local Chinese newspaper, who also printed them for me. It was very reasonable. I figured I wanted people to know what they were signing.
The sad part: I never used them. I just took the picture and moved on. However, releases would increase the value of images if sold for stock.

The release needs to be in the signers native tongue to be legal... So, yes, you'd want a Spanish language release in Latin America, for example.
It helps to have a local guide, too... In many countries that's not very expensive.
Sometimes a bi-lingual cab driver is a big help. I once had one in Indonesia who parked his "bemo" and spent two hours walking around a local market with us.

Whenever I do shoots with non-English speakers, I always carry 2 contracts. One in the language of the model I'm shooting, and the other in English (and I have them fill out and sign both of them). It's also important that the contracts are translated to mean the exact same thing, otherwise a court could determine them invalid.

I don't have any experience in the modeling realm but I do know of a site that does free and easy translation.
