I'm don't like the watermark I am using and want to change it. Until I get the watermark that I like how can I go in and remove the existing watermark on my images? I went into the menu to remove the watermarking for new images, but is there a way to remove it from the existing?

I think the watermark is added to the iamge... you might have to upload them again.

So if it runs when imagemagick runs then should I just do a "recreate thumbnails"?

Nope doesn't look like choosing thumb recreation does it. I guess I will just have to re-submit the photos to get rid of the watermark unless someone has another idea.

I have no problem re-uploading the pics and doing it over. I have told a total of about 4 people that this site even exists so I could care less if they see my progress during the growing pains.

BTW Warren, I did read the manual (well what there was of it since I'm using the RC). I just thought I would post the question to see if anyone knew of any backdoor trick to it. Since people mod scripts I was curious to see if anyone tried this.

I will say this though, on other sites, there is a way, but it's not a watermark applied, it's done by java, wherre a "gif" is put on top, and when the user goes to save it, copy it, etc, they can only get to the gif. To make it a bit sneeky, I use that technique and call my "gif" a picture_o1_o1.jpg just to fool the common users. So in that case, the watermark is not applied to the picture at all. Personally that method is a bit dangerous as it's not that hard for hackers to find a way, and if you had all your amazing pics posted, they potentially could get them.

Yes. There is also a possibility to make the EE and Imagemagic insert watermark on every picture "on the fly", but I have not implemented this because frankly it is waste of server power and will surely bring busy galleries to a crawl. But I'll add that to todo list as an option as I can appreciate a need for that in certain applications.

Anyway, maybe someone else out there was wondering. And yes, the manual is not a that great, and even Pekka says so. I kind of wish he asked more ppl to submit stuff. Maybe once the next release comes out, he could ask us to "write" parts of the manual to help others.

Wow, I would appreciate that kind of help a lot :) :) Let's see when the next version is out - then I will definitely take time to get manual writing project done.
