View Full Version : Very Tim Burton of me

I recently moved into the DSLR realm. I bought a G9 around eight months ago. That started the whole thing. It took awesome macro shots. I really like the macro shots. However, it did not have a very wide lens.

Over Christmas a very good sale came about and I have to take the dive. Or should I say my bank account. I had no idea lenses were that expensive. The MPE-65mm and ring flash kit is going to set me back $3k after taxes. But my love of macro photography beckons me to bye this lens. I will first have to find out what kind of magnification factor the G9 has.

Anyways. This picture I took a few days ago. Reminds me of the kind of scenery that Tim Burton likes to us. I darkened the original image a little (as shown). I like the darker image. I also played around with adding colour to the sky. Red, blue, and violet.

I hope to learn a lot about photography. And this forum seems to be a good start.

Cheers!

Not sure if it was your intention, but the sun peeking out from the side of the tree seems to gives a feeling of a glimmer of hope in otherwise dead/gloomy surroundings.
