I'm running XP SP3. I have DPP and the EOS utility installed from the CD that came with my XSi (no updates-if it works, don't fix it). I'm expecting a 50D tomorrow from B&H. What's my best option-uninstall DPP and the utility and install those from the 50D CD or run updates from the Canon website? I want to be able to use both cameras from the same software if possible.

Typically, it is always best to use the most up to date drivers/software when possible. The updates may feature new tools, fix problems you may not notice immediately and be quicker due to bloat removal.

Simplest is to just download and install the upgrades from the Web. The Canon software suite does seem particulalrly good at backward compatability and not introducing new bugs (at least I've read of very few complaints about it).
