I have a Panasonic LX3 which I love, but I sometimes found it somewhat bulky to leave in the pocket. Wonder if SD990 is a good alternative. Manual (TV, AV) is a must.
Can anybody confirm if it's usable?
Thanks,

Good move, sorry for the delay, I have had many SD cameras and the 990 is the best so far, great IQ even with the high density sensor, noise is not an issue. Moved from 35mm SLR to digital elf's and never looked back, love having a camera with me all day and night, I don't go any place without a camera, I print to 20" X 30" with my SD's with great results. The 990 shutter speed control allows me to play more than past SD's, limited aperture control as SD's use only an ND filter no real aperture

so adjusting the aperture would only affect brightness and not DOF on one of these bad boys?

That is correct the camera only has 2 apertures and they are f2.8 and f8 the f8 is achieved using a nd filter, so no change in DOF, But it is still a joy to use and has great IQ
