I'd really like to play with some macro photography, but would rather tippy-toe in than dive in on gear. Has anyone had any experience with the Adorama ring flash (http://www.adorama.com/FAMRFCA.html?searchinfo=ring%20flash) -- about $300 less than the least expensive Canon?

im pretty sure lighten will be harsh.even if its not its not got no ratio control..I dont think the flash will be any good unless your after flat looking images with no shadows.
