Here's my attempt at adding back some color to a B/W image. This was shot at Oakland Cemetary, Atlanta, GA. Unfortunatly, a Google search on Mr. Thomas doesn't return any relevent results. I'm sure there's an interesting story. Taken with 18-55mm kit lens, 1/125, f/8.

Notice the peaked top instead of the rounded tops on US servicemen's markers. Legend says that they were designed that way to keep "disrespectful Yanks" from sitting on them. By the way, the Dept. of Defense still provides these markers for the graves of confederate soldiers. It was free but I think they started charging a small fee a few years ago. Just a bit o' trivia.

Seriously, nice shot.

I think you did very well with this. I have a smile that won't go away. He would like it I am sure . . .

That's interesting, I did see a few markers that have been recently replaced. I think approx 3000 Confederate Soldiers are buried at Oakland.

I'm glad you liked the shot.

i'd make the pic a tad darker and to give it a little more somber feel.

Thanks for the replies. You're right, darker would give it a better look. I'll play around with the channel mixer a bit more.

Thanks
